Now you’ve got the date in your diary, it’s about time we put four more super suppliers in the spotlight! Today we welcome the charming Brown Birds, the crafty Beer & Co, the always full of beans Queen Bee Coffee and the timeless Classic Shaver to the blog. Here’s what you need to know about this great bunch…

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat and at Events Under Canvas we are feeling particularly festive after helping some fabulous people host some epic December dos.
Think our tipis and sailcloths can only work during the warmer months? Think again! We often speak to clients who love the idea of a more outdoorsy affair, but are worried that their preferred midwinter date will make it impossible. In fact, our structures provide cosy, picture perfect backdrops for a whole host of magical winter celebrations – all twinkling lights, toasty fires and glittering finishing touches. We’ve put together some pointers for those of you who are considering braving the big chill for your big day… Read More
As things take a turn for the chilly we’ve been dreaming of sunnier days, having a flick through the album from our tipi’s recent trip to Sicily.
The tipi and our bell tents look completely at home in the woods at the foot of Mount Etna, but it got us thinking about all the behind the scenes planning that goes into organising a show-stopping event overseas. With a recent report suggesting that as many as one in four UK couples are now choosing to marry abroad, we’ve picked the brain of our in-house wedding planner Laura for her top tips on tying the knot away from home…
We have recently worked with the National Wedding Show providing our tipis for their Secret Garden VIP lounge at their London shows. With the advent of Pinterest, the rise of the blog and the prevalence of inspirational instagrammers, it is no wonder that an increasing number of couples are choosing to shun more traditional set-ups in favour of something a little different on their big day.
If you ask us, there really are no other ‘venues’ as visually striking and as versatile as those created by our beautiful range of tipis. Ok, maybe we are a little biased (we’ve been passionate about them since we first laid eyes on one back in 2012) but we really believe that these novel Nordic structures are a brilliant addition to any wedding. From linked giant hats to our lovely little Nimbus, they’re sure to deliver the wow factor.
Attempting a do like this can seem like a daunting prospect but it needn’t be stressful! We’re here to offer some handy hints and tips about how you can host an epic tipi wedding…
Ok, so you’ve fallen in love with the tipi idea (let’s face it, why wouldn’t you?) and you’ve got a site in mind. The first thing to do is give some thought to how many guests you would like to share your day with, as well as considering what else you might want to house under canvas – a bar, band, catering or even a selfie station, for example.
We can then offer some advice as to the best number of giant hats and any other structures that might work for you. Think cosy Kung for a comfy chill out space or the quirky Nimbus for a unique outdoor bar. After that, they’ll come and visit the site you’ve chosen to measure up, make sure it’s going to suit your needs and give you an indication as to where you might want to put other essential services, like a generator and toilets.
