Summer Jobs – no VACANCIES
Right now we don’t have vacancies. We have fully recruited for our seasonal staff in 2025.
However in February 2026 we will start recruiting for 2026 summer jobs… so keep an eye on this page or our Instagram account as we’ll start to publicise the summer jobs in Suffolk then.
What are summer jobs at Events Under Canvas?
We recruit people looking for summer jobs of 3, 4 or 5 days a week. We try to work around any holidays that you have booked but we’d like pretty solid commitment and availability over the summer. As a guide we recruit from Feb-May, then our team starts in May until the end of September.
We know the people we recruit may only be with us at the start of the season or the end, or all of it. It’s worth chatting with us so we can discuss availability in general.
You will be part of our build crew, getting our equipment to events, building our luxury marquees, filling them with furniture, deconstructing them a few days later, and bringing them back to our base in Capel St Mary, near Ipswich, Suffolk. Some days you’ll also be located at our base, cleaning and organising equipment and power cleaning carpets for the marquees.
We can take school leavers but we’re ideally looking for people who can drive. This is the perfect summer job for gappers or those on university holidays, or those who just want summer seasonal work. We always have a big crew over summer and you’ll start on a zero-hours contract whilst we see how you develop into your role. Then the more you want to work, the more we can give you if the client events are available.
The job is not a 9 to 5 job because of the nature of the hospitality sector that we are in but if you like working outside, embrace flexibility day to day, love hard and physical work, and the banter of a great team who all respect each other and work brilliantly together, this would suit you. Sometimes our clients are as local as Ipswich and sometimes as far as Birmingham and beyond!

Day to day you’ll need to be able to get yourself to and from our headquarters in Capel St Mary, near Ipswich, Suffolk. You’ll need to be physically fit and strong, hard working and active. You’ll need to love being outside and happy to travel distances with us to different locations. You’ll also need to be happy to grow into your role as the summer picks up, as no day is the same.
