If you’re looking for a beautiful marquee wedding venue in Essex, Suffolk or Norfolk, there are some incredible places to choose from. We’ve been lucky enough to set up our marquees, sailcloth tents, stretch tents and giant tipis at some truly spectacular venues across the region.
Over the years, we’ve worked closely with a handpicked selection of wedding venues that we know work particularly well for marquee weddings. These are places where the setting, space and atmosphere combine beautifully with our structures to create a spectacular backdrop for a wedding.
We’ve brought together some of our 5 recommended wedding venues for marquee and tipi weddings in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk to help couples find the right setting for their celebration.
Each venue is different. Some offer beautiful gardens and countryside views, while others have historic buildings, private grounds or unique spaces that provide the perfect setting for a marquee or tipi. What they all have in common is plenty of character and the potential to create a wedding that feels personal, relaxed and spectacular.
So, if you’re planning a marquee wedding in Essex, Suffolk or Norfolk, explore our carefully selected wedding venues below and discover some of the places where we think our structures look particularly at home.
1. Crow’s Hall – Debenham, Suffolk
Crow’s Hall – Debenham, Suffolk. Your own private stately home for a few unforgettable days
Crow’s Hall is one of those places that feels a bit like you’ve borrowed your own private stately home (moat included) for one of the biggest moments of your life. And the best part? They only host a handful of weddings each year, so everything is completely bespoke, thoughtfully put together, and never rushed – you actually get the time and space to make it feel like yours.
It’s incredibly flexible too, whether you’re thinking something intimate and relaxed or going all out with a bigger, festival-style celebration. There are so many beautiful spaces to work with including a HUGE barn, and with over 12 years of experience, the team are amazing at bringing all kinds of weddings to life – whatever your style or traditions.
The real magic though is the exclusivity. You and your guests get sole access to the entire Hall for three to seven days (and you can even extend it), so it becomes more than just a wedding day – it’s a whole experience. Time to set up properly, celebrate without feeling rushed, and even host those pre and post-wedding moments that make it all feel even more special.
So if you are looking for a fairytale setting, with A MOAT that runs around an incredible grand house, and multiple spaces to celebrate in, Crows Hall is the one for you.

2. Cromer Hall Estate – Cromer, North Norfolk
Cromer Hall Estate – North Norfolk parkland, with sweeping views out to the coastline and across the stunning stately home.
Cromer Hall Estate is one of those places that just makes you stop for a second – it’s set in the most stunning North Norfolk parkland, with views that stretch all the way out to the coastline.
The family have opened up their Estate parkland for weddings. It somehow feels really grand but also really intimate at the same time – this venue was made for weddings.
And the setting? Jaw-dropping. We have helped Cromer Hall Estate choose the perfect place to have marquee weddings, away from the Hall, perched at the top of the park, against woodland. The land gently slopes away towards the Hall, so everything feels a bit more dramatic. Think space, think woodland backdrop, stunning marquees, no neighbours or other buildings in sight, long tables, open-air drinks, and those big, beautiful sky moments. It changes throughout the day too – soft and romantic in the morning, golden and glowy at sunset, and then all cosy and atmospheric under festoon lights in the evening.
It’s such a good option if you’re dreaming of a coastal wedding that still feels elegant, timeless and effortlessly beautiful.

3. Butley Priory – Woodbridge, Suffolk
A hidden gem among Suffolk wedding venues, 700 year old Butley Priory
We LOVE Butley Priory! It’s one of those venues that is so full of history, you feel it from the second you arrive. It’s tucked away in the Suffolk countryside (only about two hours from London), and it’s hard to believe places like this even exist. It’s over 700 years old and the only remaining intact building from an Augustinian Priory founded back in 1171.
And it’s not just us saying it’s incredible – Vogue magazine actually called it “one of the most stunning wedding venues in the world”… which says a lot.
The whole place has this amazing mix of historic character and understated luxury. The Great Hall is unbelievably romantic, and then outside you’ve got 150 acres of wild, beautiful landscape – Butley Abbey Wilds – which just adds to that slightly magical, tucked-away feel.
It’s perfect if you want something a bit more intimate too, with gorgeous accommodation nearby for up to 47 guests, so it can really feel like a full experience rather than just a one-day thing. The team there are incredible – everything is so thoughtfully put together, so it feels seamless, personal, and genuinely special. We have been working with them for years so we can definitely vouch for them!
It’s one of those venues that doesn’t need to try too hard… it already has that timeless, unique magic built in.

Alresford Hall is a beautiful Grade II listed Queen Anne Hall near Colchester, set within 200 acres of parkland, woodland and meadows. Proper sweeping countryside, the kind that makes everything feel a bit more special the second you arrive.
It dates all the way back to 1705 (built by Captain Matthew Martin), so there’s so much history there – but it’s not stuffy at all. It’s that perfect mix of heritage and understated luxury, where everything feels refined but still really welcoming.
Inside, it just keeps getting better. There are ten gorgeous en-suite bedrooms, all with those classic period details, so you can really turn it into a full experience rather than just a one-day thing. How to go about securing a venue for your marquee wedding?
Once you’ve found a venue you love, here’s the process we recommend:
- Explore the venue – take a look at its website and social media to get a feel for the setting, facilities and style of weddings they host.
- Check availability and pricing – contact the venue to see if your preferred date is available. If possible, arrange a visit so you can look around the site and find out the cost of the venue’s dry hire. This means hiring the venue itself while arranging your own suppliers separately.
- Talk to us about the marquee – if you’re interested in Cromer Hall in Norfolk or Tendring Hall in Suffolk, you can speak to us directly about the venue and your marquee requirements.
- Get your marquee quote – we can provide a quote for your marquee or tipi, along with the power, lighting and furniture you need to create your wedding reception.
- Book your suppliers – once your venue and marquee are confirmed, you can start arranging your other wedding suppliers, such as catering, entertainment and florists. We also have a carefully selected list of recommended wedding suppliers who we know and trust.
We’ve worked at all of the venues featured on this page, so we understand how they work and what is involved in creating a spectacular wedding there. As well as providing a beautiful setting, choosing a venue we know well can make planning your marquee wedding much easier.
